Summer harvest shares rotate through a variety of seasonal crops from the end of June to the beginning of October. We hope to include in your box, the following items: salad mix, a variety of tomatoes, cucumbers, butterhead lettuce, garlic, zucchini, basil, cilantro, kale, spinach, peaches, carrots, chard, apples, onions, potatoes, beets, spinach, sunflower micro-greens, flowers, and much more!

Traditionally called a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), this is a program where you subscribe by paying upfront for a share of the farms produce at the beginning of the season. This creates a mutually beneficial relationship between the farmer and the consumer. In this case, the harvest shares provide working capitol for the cooperative to purchase needed materials and pay our staff at the beginning of the growing season. In return, our farmer-owners dedicate themselves to growing your produce and providing you with fresh, flavorful, and bountiful vegetables.

Southwest Farm Fresh is a cooperative venture between many small farms in Southwest Colorado. Like generations of farmers before us, we believe in working together as collaborators instead of as competitors. By working together, we can provide our customers with an incredible array of amazing food from our region.

Please check out our Farm Directory page and get to know your farmers!

The Harvest Share:

Each week you’ll pickup your share’s worth of veggies, around eight to twelve unique items, at your designated location. A harvest share is good for about two to three people, depending on your eating habits. There will also be opportunities throughout the season to purchase bulk fruit and veggies for putting up, offered at wholesale prices to our harvest share members only.

Not sure you can eat this many veggies in a week? No problem, find a friend to split the share with and share the love! No synthetic pesticides, herbicides or fungicides are applied to the products you will get in our harvest share. Even though most of our farms aren’t Certified Organic, they all have a shared value of natural land stewardship that is as important to us as any certification.

The Cheese Share:

Each week you will receive a different artisan cheese from James Ranch along with your harvest share. To find out more about James Ranch Cheese, please visit the site below.

The Weekly Experience:

As a shareholder you’ll receive a weekly newsletter a couple days in advance of pickup telling you what’s in the harvest, relating what the farmers are up to, and containing some fantastic recipe ideas. Then, you pickup your already harvested veggies at your designated location and time and enjoy the bounty!
